Resilience,

Healing the

hidden link

between

achievement,

trauma, and

mental &

physical health.

Toxic stress and trauma can significantly harm our mental & physical health.

Research is clear that traumatic events and adversity can have devastating effects on you, both mentally and physically. According to the CDC, 60% of adults in the United States have at least one chronic disease, and approximately 66% of those have two or more. These numbers are alarming, and they are rising. Much research has linked traumatic events, especially early life traumatic events, with chronic inflammation, dysregulated neuroendocrine system, and metabolic syndrome - all of which are primary contributors to the development of chronic disease.

Even with these startling findings, resilience research has largely focused on the importance of psychological resilience - defined as the absence of anxiety, depression, and PTSD - leaving out the importance of cultivating physiological resilience.

HOLISTIC RESILIENCE = whole-self resilience. It is the result of successfully responding to and adapting after traumatic experiences and toxic stress, both psychologically and physiologically, through a dynamic, multisystem process.

Physical effects of toxic stress and trauma are often observed in those who have achieved professional success.

Research indicates that many adults who experienced chronic childhood adversity, who later in adulthood became professionally successful, appear to be psychologically healthy while physically having increased levels of chronic inflammation and disease. This phenomenon is known as "skin-deep resilience" because the adverse effects of toxic stress and trauma are not observable to others.

These folks are considered PERSEVERERS and OVERCOMERS - and while that's true, they did not come out unscathed. Their bodies tell the story that their heads and hearts may have long forgotten.

It's never too late to cultivate holistic resilience!

Meet Kelly...

I’m Kelly Greene—a Harvard-educated health and wellness coach, mental health professional, and licensed attorney—dedicated to helping high achievers heal the often-overlooked connection between early life trauma, chronic illness, and the drive for success.

After decades of battling chronic illness and professional burnout myself, I transitioned away from a 15-year full-time legal career, earned a master’s in psychology from Harvard, and immersed myself in research, clinical training, and holistic health. Along the way, I discovered what science now confirms: for many ambitious individuals, when trauma is unaddressed, the body pays the price, manifesting as autoimmune conditions, metabolic syndrome, or other chronic illnesses. (My graduate thesis research focused on early-life traumatic events and holistic resilience, which you can read here.)

My mission is to make this information accessible, understandable, and actionable. I support professionals and wellness seekers in moving beyond symptom management to true, sustainable growth by guiding you to explore your story, apply the 5-H's to heal at the root, and cultivate resilience in mind, body, and soul.

My approach combines psychology, neuroscience, practical strategies, and real-life experience, always honoring the complexity of being human. Here, high performance doesn’t mean burning out—it means building a life that’s ambitious, whole, and deeply resilient.

If you’re ready for evidence-based strategies, honest conversation, and a path to lasting healing, you’re in the right place.

The Healthy 5 H's of Holistic Resilience

Research has shown that several key factors contribute to our ability to be holistically resilient after traumatic experiences. These factors can be grouped into 5 main categories:

HEAD

A healthy mind encompasses the ability to generate and maintain healthy thoughts and cognitions.

HEART

A healthy heart represents emotional regulation - the ability to both feel and release all emotions.

HANDS

Hands represent our bodies and behaviors. Healthy habits regarding physical activity and nutrition are imperative.

HUMAN CONNECTION

Healthy relationships with mentors and others are essential.

HOLY CONNECTION

An active connection with the divine or spiritual, experienced through awe and a sense of meaning and purpose, is vital.

"The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places."

~Ernest Hemingway

YOU CAN BE STRONG AT THE BROKEN PLACES!
